just and fyi post if anyone else has the need arise.
went to the junkyard today and pulled the rear springs from a newedge 35th? anniversary. and stuck them under my 96 with no problems what so ever. however, there is a difference in the springs. the newedge springs were right at 1" shorter than the sn95 springs, but seems to be quite a bit stiffer. so, the restored my factory ride height (or very close).

side note: while at the junk yard saw a very sad sight, a mach460 sound system just sitting out in the rain...

glad you had good luck, i believe springs are swapable between all 79-04 Mustangs, IRS rear springs being the exception.
