So ford doesn't stamp pinion gears with depth?

I'm rebuilding this 99 cobra rear and figured "okay, this set doesn't have a pinion depth stamp, i'll order another set because the setup was dodgy to begin with on this rear" but I got my new ford racing 4.10's and they don't have the stamp either.

So what's the story with this? American muscle is having to do some research to find an answer.

IIRC Ford pinions all come in at the same position so the ring is the one to move L&R to get your back lash right. If you dig through my posts you will find a tool I made for measuring the depth down to the center line of the axels to get a number to make up non collapsable pinion pre load spacer which is easier to deal with than the crush type
