So I bought my car (95 GT) thinking I was stock except for gears and a clutch. About 2 weeks after I got it, I brought it to the track just to have some fun. I ran a 13.7-13.8 all night. Needless to say im really happy about my car, although curious as to why it runs so strong. So a have a local mustang tuner check my car out. To my surprise, what I thought was a stock mustang was actually a 302 w\ gt40p heads, some type of aftermarket cam, gt-40 (explorer) intake, 3:73's, king cobra clutch, pro 5.0 shifter, ebay cai, and 24lb injectors, and base timing of 10 deg, w\ wide open timing of 18deg. Yay me! And to think, I traded a bone stock 94 honda civic for the car as a even trade. Lol. Somebody got fucked! Haha.

yea, got effed until you find out the elmore's glued your valve covers on after it bent a pushrod, put banna peels in the diffy to mask the backlash whine of improperly set gears, and electrical taped your exhaust up after the hangers rusted through.. .. . ..

talk about an upgrade... you've probably FINALLY seen a naked woman, now, too, eh?

LOL! Just kidding.. that would never happen...

congrats on the cool ride brotha!

There was a bunch of lil dumb shit I had to fix before I could drive it, like frayed wires, and a couple small oil leaks, but there was nothing, that set off an alarm saying it was fucked with. I just talked to the previous owner on the phone and he had no clue either. He told me if he'd have known, he wouldnt have "sold\traded" me the car, and he wouldve fixed the lil shit and kept it himself. Lol.

I've been obsessed with stangs since I was a kid, but insurance rates vs my driving record wouldn't allow me to afford one. Finally my record is clear and being over 25 and married dropped my insurance rates dramatically. So now that I can afford one I finally jumped on the oppurtunity. I even have mustang tatt's on my arms ( left arm I have the running horse emblem and right arm I have a cobra emblem tatted ) got em both at 18yrs old.

Yeah I thought I was pretty stock as well! When I bought my Cobra all I knew it had was 3.73 gears, a King Cobra Clutch, and a BBK cai! and a flowmaster catback with an off brand off road h-pipe....

My throw out bearing blew apart which is when I finally had to go completely underneath the car for the first time ever :dontknow: call me lazy.... lol!

to my surprise! I found the following upgrades

a Ram billet steel flywheel
an Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft
a driveshaft safety loop
a steeda tri ax short shift! ( I knew it was a short shift but didn't know what kind until I had to remove it)
Steeda Lowering springs (also knew the car was lowered, but wasn't sure the brand of springs used)
and my H pipe has a big ole BBK tag right on it!

It was really nice to find these upgrades on the car! so I know how you feel...

My car was bought knowing it was all OEM and always owned by a little old lady (no exaggeration at all) Came with a stack of records showing the dealership handling everything since day one. Car even had a Motorcraft paper air filter when I got it.

Good to know there were no surprises anywhere on the car

same with mine, the only thing that was in my car was the wiring for a sick stereo that was not in the car anymore. Other than that bone stock

I knew about the cai and shifter, the cam i had an idea about but i thought it was just minor idle surge or something. lol, i never gave it a second thought, and the gt-40 intake manifold, i never paid any attention to. its the explorer one so i figured no biggie.

Same here except for the service records... Sure would have liked to have those.
