True... Im gonna put a new thermo in there... But are you sure it would be burning off the exhaust? The passenger side tailpipe actually smokes...like coming out of the pipe. It doesnt do it all the time, but it definitely didnt do that before.

eh, they all smoke a little. i never noticed it until someone else told me, now i notice it ALL the time. the 2v's are notorious for valve stem seals and guides that are worn causing them to smoke. almost always at idle though, or on a rev, not while driving....

Hmmm never knew that, but I dont think its just coincidental that now after all this, im seeing occasional clouds going past my passenger side window. I mean I can understand your lil warm up small smoke..But occasionally it looks like a lil bit of seafoam smoke... but not on a large scale. I hope that made sense.

its always after warming up, i've never seen a 4.6 burn oil when cold....

why worry about it, just throw the 4v in already........

or compression/leak down test atleast, along with a cooling pressure test.

Oh ok...Im going to see if I can have someone come out and check it out... I would just throw in the 4v but this is my only car. It would be nice to have something to get around in for now until I atleast have the engine I guess.

But I've been thinking, What if I get the Mark 8 engine in and its no good? All these possible situations are going through my head. Its all uncertain right now... I think I need to sit down and price out which one is worth the expense and trouble. I could buy a pi longblock but how do I know if its good?

Get the mark 8 motor tear it down and rebuild it. Then swap it in

thats why you buy the PI longblock from a reputable seller that will give you a startup warranty atleast. nothing is certain with cars or internal combustion engines. hell you could spend thousands building a motor and go to fire it up and the oil pump is defective and toast the whole thing in seconds.....

$200 with no cams is an OK deal, not great.

those actually look like bolt on cam gears though so i'd be weary of what you're actually getting if you buy them since they are listed as 2000 4.6 and should be pressed on gears. could just be the pictures, either way, as long as they are PI heads its all the same since they dont come with the cams anyways.
