A while back I had mentioned I was going to replace my stock brakes for some 10th anniversary Cobras. I ordered the cobra master cylinder, SS lines and the required hard lines to convert to the Cobra MC. The last two were ordered from MM. We did two swaps, one with the cobra MC and the other without (my brother's GT). We also drained the old brake fluid and replaced it with a fresh dot 3&4. The problem is we did everything the same but my car has a super soft feel. I bench bled the MC and made sure to take the air out from the system In the correct order. Any ideas?

I re read the the instructions again and again. The ss line kit came with 4 bolts and 4 crush washers, should I have used two or four washers? I'll bleed the system again, it was just too late to do it last night

By comparison to your brother's car, your pedal will feel softer, but the brakes will work a LOT better. If you don't believe me, take both cars, get them up to about 60 or so, and then brake. You will see which one will stop better.

Not only does his pedal feel a lot better but his stops faster and can actually semi lock the brakes, I'm not even close. I'll re-bleed tonight when i get off of work, hopefully it's just air. I also was reading the instructions on the MC and it was making me get some measurements, I got them but didn't quite understand what they where for, is there something I missed?

Everything should be straight forward. This is strange that you are the one who is having the stopping issue with the proper master cylinder. I have driven a few Cobra brake equipped 5.0 gt, which still had a stock master cylinder in it, and every time my experience has been that the cars have an extremely hard pedal, and do not utilize the brakes nearly as much as they would with the right master cylinder, including my own car, which I've driven with both. Try to bleed some air out of it, perhaps there was a mix up with the parts, and you don't have the right master cylinder.

I bled the MC again and then the brakes in the correct order and it's like night and day, IMHO worth every penny. I have to agree that the pedal feels better with the Cobra MC, it's not a night and day feeling like comparing the cobra brakes to the stock ones but it's significantly better. We got my brothers car all bled and set up and no regrets so far from either one of us. Thanks for the help and suggestions
