What's a good set that won't melt when close to my headers and that I can get from the auto parts

Yeah, taylor is cool. I used to buy the TFS wires until they stopped selling them, now I just buy the taylor version of them. NOthing will live when it touches or is within 3/8" of your header tubes.

No for some reason its only on that side

Are you using the sparkplug wire separators?

I just installed my new wires and so far having good luck using more serparators than what came with the car from the factory. Pull those suckers away fom the heat areas then clamp them on the separator and so far no burnt wires.

No not using wire separators. I guess I'll be using them now

Oh ya then thats a big part of your problem. I picked up 6 in 1 pack from advanced auto for $5 i think. This alone should solve your problem if you carefully route them away from your headers.

I got some of those and they were all 3-8" longer then stock and the coil wire was for a Fox Body. Wire surgery ftw!

Weird. Myself or anyone else I know hasnt had a problem with them, they were generally considered the best. Taylor would have been 2nd

But I guess you cant go wrong either way.. You sure the place you got them from just didnt F up? Or you didnt ordering them?

You can make your own wire seperators out of zip ties.

Wrap around all of them with one, then put one between each one.

Got em from American Muscle and on the box it said it was the right stuff. My car still had the original 1995 wires on it and matching them up the least amount of difference I had was 3 inches and a couple were 8 inches longer. It came with 2 coil wires. One for a Fox car that is 2 feet too long lol and one for old style coils with the wrong plug on the end. I called AM and complained and they called Ford and asked them about it and basically Ford is lumping all 5.0/5.8 engines into one package now so they make them long enough to fit everything. AM was pretty cool about it and gave me a 20% discount off anything I ordered next time. I love the wires though! Just wish they would have came in the proper length for my car.

I never said it was the place to go. I wanted frpp wires and they had the cheapest. Actually if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't have got frpp wires or any that AM have.
