So in my previous thread I post i had some electrical issues tryin to find a power. So I wired it to the radio and now it works but when im doing 40 or so it's reading 15. I flipped the switches to the correct order (I think) if 0 is off and 1 is on. Any ideas? This is driving me insane!!!

Dude I literally drove up and down my street just starting and stopping and messing with my speedcal settings until it matched the speed on my GPS. Do you have a Dallas Mustang one? I do...and I hear everyone has problems.

Damn that sucks! I don't have a gps like that. Haha I'm not sure what brand it is. One of my buddies gave it to me from a car he was parting out. There's no decals on it or anything but I would have to guess its a Dallas mustangs one.

I have a Dallas Mustang one, and my speedometer is still slightly off, would like to know what the solution is as well.

Do you have the Speed Cal or the updated Speed Cal 2? If you have the 2, there is no way to set it yourself. You have to drive 10 miles (using a pace car or GPS), and call them to tell them what your odometer said. They'll give you the right settings. Part of the reason for this is that there were a lot of variations using the original version and weren't accounted for - so using a chart for every car wasn't working. If you use the directions/settings for the basic Speed Cal on the SC 2, it will read way off.

I'm pretty sure its a normal speed cal. There's nothing really special about it. There's not even a decal or anything. I got it second hand but my buddy says it's a DMP.

As mentioned you will need to drive an exact 10 miles and give Justin a call with your odometer reading, take my advice though, save your money up and buy a ford speed dial, at least that way you can adjust it yourself easily

I have a ford racing performance parts one!!! buy it from meeee! :) it comes with gobs of extra wire too, because I ran it to my trunk... lol.

anyways, the dalas speed cal's instructions are wrong. You just have to find the updated instructions and it should work.

OR you could buy mine and have no problems at all :)

Nope, I used the updated instructions and Justin's phone support at Dallas Mustang and it still wasn't right

Like I said, toss the speedcal in the trash and get the Ford speed-dial for either $125 shipped or buy his unit, either way you will thank yourself when you see how easy it is to set correctly instead of using the mystery DIP settings

Its pretty simple...use a GPS. If you don't have a GPS these days...then I'll be very surprised.

I just drove around...messed with the settings until it matched the speed on my GPS, and I'm good to go. No reason to spend $125 for another speedcal when you can make yours work.

Riddle me this...

If you set your speedcal to read 20mph when you're actually going 60mph...would it clock lower odometer miles?

So did you just find a straight road and started flipping the dip switches on and off? I'm okay with that if it worked for you. I would rather throw that $125 into a set of shocks if I had to

The speedcal is wired between the VSS and the computer/speedo. Sooo the answer would be YES. When the speedo is slower then the Odo is slower too. (assuming the speedo cluster is working correctly).
If your thinking "I'll just set the speedo to read just a little off so my miles stay lower" remember, the speedo is a ratio. Meaning it's not going to be "off" the same at all speeds.
I would also suggest you have someone sit in the passenger seat flipping the switches while YOU drive and maintain speed and watch traffic.

I actually had to start and stop and disconnect the battery each time I made an adjustment...I read somewhere that you have to do that between each change. So its not as simple as flipping switches on the go.

Wow... That's obnoxious. There's thousands of different combinations. How do I know where to start?
