The whole weekend was a pretty interesting experience. Saturday it was raining cats and dogs, and I drove out there with RA-1s at 5/32nd tread depth. The car felt a bit weird on the freeway, but on the track it was actually surprisingly stable. I was still able to get a lot of speed through some of the corner, despite hard rain. It's quite an experience when you're racing on the track in hard rain with headlights on, because it's so dark. Feels like an endurance race.
Sunday everything dried up, so I actually got some good laps in, got to instruct beginner group. Went for a ride along with one student who got there late. He's never been around the track, but he's been to canyons :tard: Guy could drive, but had no idea where he was going. Before I could even tell him to pull off into the hot pits, and switch places, he spun us in turn 5 right off the track. Luckily everyone was ok.
BTW, cheapest car was my car in that picture. E30 M3 in a condition which that one was, is usually twice to three times as expensive as my car is.
