Stereo woes...

Here's my problem. Alpine head unit into stock Mach 360 amps. Plus a Yamaha 1200 watt amp and 12" sub. My interior speakers drown out my sub. The head unit has a separate sub-woofer pre-out and that channel is turned all the way up. Plus I only have to turn it to like 10 out of a scale of 40 and its VERY loud. But I cant seem to balance my sub in with the rest of the system. Now I will admit my sub an enclosure were not the best. But still its worked nicely in other cars I've owned with the factory amps. Why not with this set-up? Any tricks to turn down the Mach460 amps?

Try fiddling with the settings actually in the headunit, the equalizr and all that. You might just have the lows turned down and the highs up on it.

I kind of have and still nothing to tune down the out-put of the main channels.

Why do you have the mach amps in still?

Because they're working and I dont feel like re-wiring the entire sound system.
