Kayso, normally aspirated, I am expecting 500-520 HP at the flywheel on a 351W with Super Victor intake, AFR 185's, Four barrel throttle body, big cam and shorty headers. 9.5 to 1 compression. Have 255 Wahlbro fp, stock 94 Cobra fuel lines, and 47lb injectors on the way. Will the fuel lines restrict flow too much? Anyone see any other potential conflict? Thanks in advance.

You won't be anywhere near 500 hp naturally aspirated with that combination. But yes, the stock fuel lines themselves will support 500 hp.

Extreme RPM, solid roller valvetrain, large heads, and compression.

Yeah, the intake is definately an experiment, might have to step that down a bit for bottom end. Also, it is a hydraulic roller block and the cam is a comp cams XE282HR. Seems to be as big as Comp Cams makes em for an N/A app. I know it isn't gospel, but their camquest program was pretty accurate for me before and it estimates 525 HP after I entered the AFR flow numbers as tested by MM&FF in 2001. Once it is broke in and dyno tuned I will let yous guys know what comes out, see how good you are. :boxing:

Maybe 400 at the crank.

But really, stroke the sucker.

And those injectors are retarded big.

I'm running 36lb injectors on my NA 351 and I'm no where close to maxing out the duty cycle. My previous combo was also 185 AFR's (to small for a 351 IMO) TFSR intake custom grind cam 75mm accufab TB and shorty headers. It made 344 at the wheels at approx 8:4 compression. The new combo will yield a lot more power once I have it running again but I have no plans of touching the injectors

Dyno Tuned at Alternative Auto Performance

Well, on a nice 80 degree day, I got 387.6 RWHP and 356.4 RWTQ at right around 6200 rpm. Not bad for an N/A motor I think. I see Comp Cams Camquest was a little optimistic on their numbers, but I am very happy anyway. And she has great manners all the way around! I would post the dyno sheet if I could figure out how to attach a picture on this new bulletin.

Good numbers. What was the correction factor?

You need to host the picture somewhere (like Photobucket) then copy the URL for the picture in between some tags that look like this: [img ] [ /img] (remove the spaces)

What are the cam specs?

Paul.

I don't what the correction factor is, it wasn't printed on my sheet, and at the time I didn't know to ask. But I think it was about 80 deg on a beautiful day, so I'm sure barometer was high. Cam specs: Comp cams XE282HR. 232 int, 240 exh at .050. lift is .565 and .574.

Interesting tidbit, I asked the tuner (Lidio) at Alternative Auto Performance here in the Detroit area what he would use to calculate flywheel horsepower and he said that he doesn't add on a percentage because he feels that the the drivetrain loss on a manual transmission is 50 to 60 hp regardless what your engine puts out. Previously, I had always figured about 17% loss from flywheel to the ground. His explanation makes most sense to me, any other opinions?

Lidio Iacobelli is a smart guy, so I tend not to argue with guys like that. However, I'm not sure that you'd get a 50-60 hp loss on a 400 hp engine compared to the same loss on a 2000 hp engine. I also don't think there's any reasonable (formula) that can be applied. If you want to know the loss, dyno it on an engine dyno, then again on a chassis dyno, and do your best to normalize the variables between the two.

Also, I think it's irrelevant.

Yeah, and maybe I misquoted him on the "regarless what the engine puts out." I just understood that to be the jist of what he was saying. There is no doubt in my mind he is the Jedi of Mustang tuning in this area.

I have the 7qt canton T-pan, which must be shallower. I think I got lucky there, because I inherited it from my neighbor who had a 94 cobra coupe. Hope you can get that resolved.
