Anyone got a lead on stock height rear springs for an 02 mustang gt? They're discontinued and noone seems to make them. Already switched my fronts back to stock height with moog springs. I realize now the reason I was having clearance issues is that the car has/had extreme drop lowering springs on it.

Already replaced the fronts and I'm not doing that again. Miserable pita. Rear suspension overhaul is next once I can find some springs and lower control arms or even bushings for rear LCA.

Car is just for driving to work and back.

Seeing that there are lowering sping kits for your car from various suppliers I would hazard a guess that the springs are all the same diameter but just a different length and possibly spring rate. Try Rock Auto, they stock Moog rear spring set #CC827 along with other brands. That part number fits 89 to 98 models. American Muscle has lowering kits which fit 79 to 04 coupes so I don't see why the Rock Auto Moogs wouldn't work.

I was kind of wondering this myself. I think I'll ask moog and see what they say. Thanks for the idea.

This is the 98 mustang suspension. I do see they both share the 5560 part of the part number.

1998 - F4ZZ5560A
2002 - 3R3Z5560CA

Not sure why they aren't interchangeable...

I can see the moog rear spring details (attached) but can't find the details for the 02 springs.

But can't find it for the 2002

I'm sure they will do the job!!! Take some pics for us!
So, I installed them, seem to fit fine, certainly looks more even than a lowering spring in the rear and a stock spring in the front. Not sure if they aren't a bit taller than stock springs. It was pretty hard to get the new shocks in, I actually had to put the bolt onto the stud, then pry up with a prybar to get enough threads showing to get the nut to go over all the insulators.

That may have been because I installed new upper and lower control arms and shocks as well as the new springs. Might be better once the suspension levels out. Certainly tried my best to torque everything while I had the jack on it. Didn't get to grease any of my new Zercs and Im pretty sure I put my sway bar on incorrectly. (Thanks BBK for not including any decent instructions with it).

Give the springs a chance to settle in, they will naturally compress as the spring relaxes a bit. It's not uncommon to have to jack up the axle/spring mount a bit to get the shock to poke through the mounting hole. Good job!!

Yea I tried jacking up each corner by the shock mount but even with the whole cars weight on each corner there weren't enough threads. That was with kyb excel g

With the cc827 springs for a 98 mustang installed on a 2002 mustang gt. Before driving it at all. Will measure fender wells and take an after pic as well.
