My 96 does that as well on cold starts, holds at about 1100 till I tap the throttle

The "sandwiched" pullies are typical to retain the external balancer

My car gets taken out of the garage maybe 1-2 times a week, factor in that I have only owned it since December so I am talking about cold starts only

Like I said it will go over 1000 RPM when I start it (not touching gas at all) then as soon as I hit the gas it will drop right down

i think this guy is talking about when the car is nice and warm and then he hit the gas to rev the car up. you know and it takes the longer than it should idel back down. he want to know if his pulleys are the cause of this. i would say maby. cause my stang takes a lil longer to idel back down but mine is all stock in that part. no undrives for my stang, not worth the money if you ask me.

us soldier- thats exactly what im saying! when i rev it even when its warm it takes longer for the rpms to drop

every mustang should idle high cold...its the automatic choke and it will drop when it warms, that wasnt what i was aking
