I have been wanting to replace the strut tower brace I had to remove when I put my heads on and needed a spacer to clear them. I bought a steeda brace used but was suprised to see that it still hits on the back drivers side of the cobra intake I am running. If I were to cut that piece off it would fit and might be able to get a bent piece welded on later but it would stiffen it up and be better then nothing? I even considered cutting the other back side/back half off so its just the piece between the towers, again better then nothing but what would you do?

I will snap some pics when I get a chance but the brace is basically 3-4 pieces put together. The front bar that goes across the towers clears, the bar that goes from the pass side tower to the mounting flange on the firewall fits, but the drivers side bar from the tower to the firewall hits the intake. If I cut that piece off I will have the one up front across the two, and one going to the pass side to the wall but not on the drivers side.

yea comparing the two designs the bbk has a bend on the bars in back where the steeday is straight. There is a bbk in criagslist about an hour away wonder if I can get him to meet me half way or something and just sell this as-is...

I hve heard the MM brace will fit over the cobra intake. And for an MM part is very well priced at only like $149. I plan to pick one up

I was either going to buy the bbk one because I know they clear or modify my stock one and do some TIG for fun

We have a Kenny Brown old new stock that clears our 04 Mach 1 with the shaker! It might also be worth a call to Kenny Brown to discuss since they are back in business!

no pics to share at the moment. The piece of pipe would need to be bent to go around the intake on the drivers(from the stur tower to the firewall) side or removed completely). Not sure about cutting a section out and then putting in another piece. Found a craigslist add for a junkyard that has a BBK brace so I am probably just going to take the steeda there and see how much $ I would need to throw in to trade, shouldn't be much I would think the steeda is in perfect shape
