Hey guys I have ford c springs with stock isos and they have been on for over a year and from the top of the tire to the fender measures 3 in exactly on all 4 tires I thought it would be lower , I want to go lower but I hear bad things about the eibach sportline with the car bowncing around any thoughts ? I thought about cuttin 1/2 to 3/4 a coil but im affraid the springs are to soft and it will bottom out

As long as its a linear spring cut away. Might take a while .5 coil ride on it for a while if you need to cut again. Let the settle after every cut.

What do you mean by linear? is that as opposed to progressive ? If so there linear do you cut 1/2 coil from ther top of the spring ,and do you then have to rotate the spring to get the edge back to the original spot ? thanks alot guys

cutting your springs will increase the spring rate and will make the car ride stiffer.

I strongly advise against it!

there ford c springs and I just want it to drop another .5 to .75 an inch not a 1.5 or 2 inch drop and there not progressive springs

A linear spring the rate stays the same regardless of compression. Progressive rate increases as the spring gets compressed.
I cut off the bottom. Yes remember the aligment go in the same way.

You really know nothing about spring dynamics. Google it and learn.

Not as bad I thought it was coming. If it was a progresive spring I would agree but not on a linear. He's not cutting 3 inches or something drastic its half a coil. Which if it does change ra.te it will minimal

dumbed down ....with imaginary numbers...and incorrect terms

non prgressive spring lets say each coil resists 150lbs...... say you have 10 coils and cut 2 out ...... you move from 1500lbs of resist1200 lbs resist

with progressive each coil has a progressively dif resist pressure

Not even close. A spring does not dissipate weight, the weight pressed down on the top of a spring will still be felt under a spring.

"dumbed down with imaginary numbers" let's say a 10" spring with 10 coils has a rate of 100 lb/in.
100 lbs placed on the top of the spring will compress it 1". Each coil does its job by compressing by 1/10th of an inch. If you cut 1 coil off that spring, and place the same load of 100 lbs on top of the spring, the height of the spring will compress by 9/10ths of an inch. You have effectively increased the springs "rate" by 10%.
