Hey everyone, as some of you know I installed a tubular k, a-arms, coil overs (where you modify the front struts), and CC plates. I was wondering if it's at all possible to swap to REAL coil overs in the front and get rid of the struts and the 'coil over kit' that you get? I'm looking for a coil over that's valved/spring rate for a street and 1/4 mile. Any help or point of direction is greatly appreciated!

What exactly do you mean by a 'real' coilover? What you have is definitly real, lol. If by real you mean a strut that doesnt require a coilover conversion kit then look at the QA1 strut, the body is threaded so there is no need for a coilover sleeve, however I havent heared very good things about there struts longevity. The only other option would be an SLA system from either agent 47 or griggs, but that type of setup is definitly not for drag racing or street use.

That's basically what I have, Duff. The goal for my car is to pull the front wheels and if I do that, the blue dome piece right below the CC plate comes out of the spring. Every time I put my car on the lift, when I lower it to where the front tires are slightly toucing the ground, I have to make sure that the blue dome piece is sitting in the spring. If I just lower the car completely after being at full droop, the spring becomes off center and the blue dome piece doesn't line up to fit in the center of the spring. If I were to pull the front wheels right now ( which the car can't...yet ) I could probably cause some serious damage with the weight of the car coming down fairly quick.

If you can't understand what I'm typing, I'll take some pictures at work tomorrow to show.

just with my hands i can compress the spring so the blue cone is "loose" as i let the spring go it sits back on the spring. I dont see how yours comes off, its centered by the strut ...
