Tomorrow I'm planning on dropping my T-5 to change out the TOB, retainer, and rear main seal. I also want to change the tranny fluid since I've never done it and the owner before me didn't either, which can mean it hasn't been changed in 10 years. All I know how to do is how to drop the tranny. But where do I go from there? How do I drain it? What do you guys recommend I use to fill it back up, Any additives, and how much fluid do I use?

It takes just a hair under 3Qts to fill it up. There is a drain plug on the side near the bottom.

When you look at the pasenger side of the tranny you will see the drain and fill plugs

Do yourself a favor and drain it before you drop the tranny, why leave all that extra weight in there?

do a search for synchromesh. I changed my t5 to that and it helped with the grinding. In fact doesn't gring anymore so it put the rebuild off for a while.
