Here's my new project!
I've had it 2 weeks. When I bought it the car had sat abandoned for over 4 years.
It had not been cranked, the battery was missing, and all 4 tires were dry rotted and cracked.
Oh yeah, the paint was caked with dirt/debris and the interior was toast. Sounds fun right?

The good news is I got it all redone and back on the road today (Sunday)!
It took me working on it about 3 hours each night after work.

I got the engine running with a new water pump, thermostat, hoses, belt, spark plugs, headers, catback exhaust, rotors, ceramic brake pads, steeda lowering springs, SVE adjustable height rear control arms, new driver's door panel, new window switches, new shift knob/handle, bullitt pedal covers, floor mats, and new door hinges (yet to be installed).

The car has an Edelbrock intake, 70mm throttle body, E camshaft, 24# injectors, and MSD igntion. It also has 3.73 gears.

I put my Saleen wheels on it to drive it around today.

Ryan

Yes unfortunately the factory paint is in bad shape. The top sections have white spots where the clear and the base are gone. The areas are also course to the touch.
I plan to have the entire car repainted in the factory teal color.

The 1st week I had the car I did the following -
New water pump, thermostat, and hoses. Flushed entire cooling system.
New spark plugs.
Cleaned air filter.
New 10W-30 Valvoline oil and motorcraft filter.
Smog pump delete kit from UPR and a new serpentine belt.
Removed tubing and capped off h-pipe and heads from old smog parts.
New shorty headers.
New window switches.
Got car up and running after draining old gas and changing fuel filter.

The 2nd week I performed the following -
New MAC catback exhaust.
New Steeda Sport Springs at all four corners.
New SVE Performance adjustable lower control arms.
New cross-drilled and slotted rotors front and rear.
New ceramic brake pads front and rear.
New driver side door panel.
New black floor mats.
New bullitt pedal covers.
New UPR slimline HVAC knobs.
New UPR shift knob and tri-ax handle.
Installed wheels/tires and drove car for first time.

3rd week (this week) -
I'm waiting on my odometer gear install kit to arrive to fix that.
Speedhut el-glo gauges to arrive this week.
Passenger side door bezel to arrive this week.
Still looking for replacement factory type seats (leather, cobra, mach 1, etc).
Going to start underhood detailing this week (paint, polish, etc).
Going to install new vacuum hoses underhood this week.
Going to remove valve covers and sand/repaint.
Got to figure out why AC compressor will not engage.
Got to figure out why AC blows out defrost only (suspect the vacuum line replacements will fix this).
Got to get insurance and a new tag on the car.
Install door hinges on driver side.
Pickup new headlights.
Pickup a new short throw shifter.
Change trans fluid (Royal Purple).
Change rear end fluid (Royal Purple).

Good deal. I have my little reserection story my self. I buy and sell mustangs all the time. Great find. I seen the picture of it on the trailer and thought " diamond in the rough" . It's a fact that some people just shouldn't have mustangs.

Hey man the car looks great. Can you take a pic of the gauges when you get them in? I've been looking at those for a while

They are VERY nice. I have maximum motorsports identical ones on my Saleen and let's say for the money, the SVE is the exact duplicate but 1/2 the price!!
