We don’t believe in trucks, SUVs, or minivans. So we have an old fashion traditional family sedan, which happens to be a Tesla Model S. Now then, as you can imagine, the Model S is many things. It is...

Faster than my mustang
More dependable than my mustang
Safer than my mustang
In better condition than my mustang
Better for the environment than my mustang
Has more features than my mustang
Newer than my mustang
Better handling than my mustang

...the list goes on and on, but this morning, as I opened the Tesla door to let my 6yo in, you know what she said to me? “I want to take the red car.” The red car is... ...my mustang.

Before the Model S, our family sedan was a Jaguar XF, and, well... ...she still preferred mommy’s red car

Kids these days!

The feeling is amazing when your kids are excited about your car with you.

Forget your kids... ...you should see everyone else’s kids react to it when I pick her up from school! They all stare. They all compliment. ...and then they get into their parents boring minivan or SUV that looks like everyone else’s boring minivan or SUV. Sometimes I wonder if THATS the reason they think it’s so cool. It’s so obviously different. If I rolled up in a 90s civic would I get the same reaction?

I mean, I literally grew up with the car. I’ve had it for almost 21 years. So it’s not different to me. And by now, the bumpers cracked in several places, there’s dents all in the body, the clear coat is flaking off on every single panel, yet it still gets the same amount of love from admirers as when it was an award winning show car. ...though, it does still look damn fine 20 feet away!

Back when I bought my 01 I had my kids at the dealer with me. I told them we were going home in the yellow car and they ran over to grab their car seats and drag them to the Cobra. It was my daily so all the kids knew when I was picking them up or dropping them off at school. I even had one kid tell me he's going to have a car like that someday.

I used to get a good laugh out of all the mean looks I'd get from the moms or the sad faces I'd see on the dad's when they got into their minivans.
