Okay... Haven't been on here much or in a while. BUT, any one ever heard of this situation? I have a rebuilt D&D T-45. About 10,000 miles on her. Everything has been great until about a week ago. I was racing a friend and went from 2nd to third (no "power-shift", aka I let off of the acc). The shifter went INTO the third gear position but acted as if though it were in nuetral????? :dontknow:. Scared the shit out of me so I pulled it back out of the third gear position, slowed down and gently shifted back to third. No problem.... goes in gear just fine. It did it one other time the other day. Anyone ever heard of this??? Would changing fluids help??? I should have done the t-56 swap... this will be my 4th T-45 :angry4:

96' Cobra, hooker lt's, jlt cold air, lowered, and 03 cobra wheels.... oh, and b&m ripper shifter. With these mods... I should probably invest in a better trans.

honestly it sounds like your syncro's are dying. that or your ripper shifter isn't allowing the gears to fully engage and its technicly only halfway in the slot. or your shift forks are loose. ietherway ... sounds like its about ready to come back out of the car again

Try adjusting the stops on the shifter. Make sure they are properly adjusted.

Thanks... The bump stops would only prvent the shifter from allowing the shifter to go in gear if adjusted short. What if it adjusted too far out? Damn... just damn...

Check the plastic bushing the shifter sits in. When mine broke it when I was in gear it would the shifter would move like it was in neutral.

I had that happen the second time I drove my car after purchasing it. I floored it going on to a highway and shifted like you did, let off the gas and clutch in looking for second and let the clutch out and gave it the gas again and it was neutral. I thought I just missed a shift but then I could connect second gear so I put it in third and got off on the next exit, when I put it back in first to take off from the stop, the shifter was locked in first. So, I had to limp home going about 15. Long story short, the tranmission popped and fortunatly the place I bought it from accepted the responsibility and swapped in a used transmission at their expense and all I had to do was pay for a new clutch because as long as the transmission was out I figured I should put a new one in. I neverasked or heard what went in it but was happy they didn't tel me to go pound sand.

t-45's arent as weak as they alot of people make them out to be. If built correctly they will out last alot. There are TONS of guys running them in the NMRA MM class and have awesome success with them. Zach Harty is one of them. Its not to say your rebuild couldnt have gotten a bum part that is now failing but I would check thoes stops and make sure the bushings are good
