Car looks great man! haha Sorry for the comment earlier, I really had no idea we had a user named Mavisky. That being said I approve of the thread title ;]
Definitely keep the car black. It hides in the hood scoop....in a good way. The other guy with the white car and black hood scoop sticks out too much imo, this way it is subtly sexy!

Haha no worries. I signed up last year, lurked, and at the start of this month probably had less than 5 posts. It would have been creepier if you had known me, stalker!!

You're wrong actually. His car is nice & tastefully done.

Thanks.

Nice build! Great part selection.

Get some real suspension and brakes under it... and some subframes. Seriously. Suprised you have not coming from a SCCA background.

Yea, the car got thrown together pretty quick due to the money I got from parting out the talon. Goal is to make it a fun weekend car but still something the wife will ride in without complaining. That means that the suspension will probably stay as is for the most part and the brakes may receive a small upgrade but only to keep up with the blower once i add it. Probably won't ever get more than just some PBR calipers and some good pads to be honest.

Subframes are the next step (well once I fix this leaky steering rack, rear diff cover, and rear main seal), I even had them all lined up to be put on before I moved down here but had to put that on hold. Old Falken RT-615's couldn't be driven in the indiana winter's (or heavy rain) so the car sat all winter, then in January the wife took a new job here in Atlanta so mod money got put on hold. Hell just finally received my first paycheck in Georgia last week and already bought a new set of seats so don't worry I'll get them put on soon enough.

As for the SCCA, that was something I used to be into, but got frustrated blowing $50 to make five 50 second runs in second gear and I've never had the money to really build and campaign an open track car. The Talon was getting damned close before I parted it out and was quite a bit faster than the Mustang is now. Last timeslip i had for it was 13.1 @113 on pump gas and a smallish turbo. Weighing under 2500lbs certainly helped.

Couple more pics for fun.

Here's the trans when I first bought the car and opened it up - rounded teeth work awesome.

You have no idea how scary this day was since it was the only hood I had. Literally the night before a car show lol.

the mod I get asked about the most currently besides the hood scoop - i didn't realize it was this interesting personally.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I'd say my tastes have change as I've grown older and I try to put a lot of effort into putting together a car that's clean but subtley different to those in the know.

Thanks guys, as you can tell from my Talon I'm not scared cutting medal for one off fabrications. The fender flares on it were from an old 70's Datsun 240z. Only way I could fit 17x9's under it with 275's.

Moved to Atlanta from Fort Wayne, IN.

Who the fuck are you? :p

For the most part I really like what you've done with the car. You'll love it once the SFCs are on.

Just ordered a set of new 2011+ 5.0 badges. Got them in chrome so i can try and see if i prefer them in flat black or chrome via plastidip.

Thinking the chrome for now.
