Let me ask you--
When lifting a car on a four point lift, are you told to jack the car by the pinch welds or the frame?
I've seen so many cars (Mustangs, Camaros, and others) with mangled pinch welds under the fenders and bowed out fenders from it, yet I seem to notice a trend as of recent of so many places still jacking cars on the pinch welds.
Why the hell would you jack a car on that when the frame is right there? I know in theory the pinch weld is supposed to be able to support the weight, but many a mangled fender proves otherwise. It seems like an absolute no brainer that you would lift a car by the frame, but maybe that's just me.
