timing advice.....

i have been hearing that if u advance your timing a couple degrees that u well gain a lil more power..is any of this true..i have mine at 11 at the time...should i go a little bit higher?

You can go higher and yes it will increase the HP but you will also have to run either 91 or 93 octane fuel to ward of denotation. You can advance it until it starts to "ping" it sounds like BB's in a can. Back it off a degree or so once you get to that point. Most can take 14 some can take 16 each is a little different.

I think you will be very suprised at what that will do for you. I advanced my 94 SVT to about 16 degrees advanced and it was incredible the difference it made. The lower end of the RPM's gained so much from it. It an easy, quick, and free way to get a little more "get up and go" out of your car

i had this dilema b4 i set my car at 18 degrees and i run 94 octane gas it never pings, i also put it on the dyno and the car runs less rich which is a problem with the mustangs and i picked up 5 hp to the wheels free... so it works

I was always under the impression that the stock mustangs ran lean, not rich...? For emmissions, and fuel economy...?
