I have never owned or used a hand held tuner before, but believe that will tell you where your timing is at.
Timing on a dohc is always the same. 11 on the right bank 1 on the left bank, key is at tdc.
Its adjusted via your crankshaft posistioning sensor which ties into your ecu, controling fuel, etc, etc.
I was wondering more along the lines of besides taking off your valve covers inorder to adjust cam gears. What are you trying to figure out?

You will need to get into the ECU to check your timing. If you want to bump it up, you will either need to put it on a dyno, or use a hand held tuner.

ahhh then there is also the steeda timing thing. pulls your crankshaft posistioner to the outside of your timing chain. still would go with a handheld tuner, you can do more in the long run, and not have your posistioner exposed like my sister on porn sites.... errr something.

There should be a TDC mark on the front cover, and a corresponding mark on the crank pulley.
If you are talking about spark timing, you can change it with a tuner, but if it's cam timing, unless you have adjustable cam gears you'll have to get a degree wheel and read the cam timing.

i have one of these and i personally dont suggest using it... just save your $200.00 and get get a professional tune for $500.00 and get it done right... youll be much happier.
