timing question?

hey guys, i was just wondering. hopefully this isn't stupid but I have never done this hands on, only seen it on TV and stuff.

how exactly do you go about adjusting your timing? ive seen them do it on cars with distributors and a timing light but how do i do this on my 98 cobra?

oh and also, what should the stock timing be at? or where should i set it at?

you either need a steeda timing adjuster or get a tuner and a custom tune.
