Im looking to get new wheels for my car. Looks like the tires are gonna cost more than the wheels lol. The wheels are 18x9 and 18x10. Now the cheapest i found tires shipped to me are 285/35/18 Sumitiomos (rears) 450$ from AM. The fronts i found locally for about 250$ and are 255/40/18. But i also found some Toyos that are for $99 each and are 275/35/18. Now these are too big for me up front and too small for me out back, but are a sick deal. Don't know what to do. So should I go 255/40/18 and 285/35/18 or do 255/40/18 and 275/35/18 with a spacer out back?

255/40 and 285/35 would be your best bet.

i'm not crazy bout 255/40 up front and 275/35 in the rear just because that will make the rear tire shorter and lower profile, 285 would be less noticeable.

How about 255/35 and 275/35? How would that be?

That would be closer but I believe the 255/35 will be shorter than a stock tire would be.. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Why not 245/45/18 and 275/40/18 out back? Just a suggestion, might be cheaper

well you're already running a pretty short tire up front so if you like how that looks 255/35 may be fine for you. I priced out some Sumitomo HTRZII tires and they don't seem too expensive, unless shipping to Canada is really that much extra. here's my pig with 255/40 and 285/35 in case you're interested

Holy crap.. $450 for 2 sumitomo tires?! That sucks man.. You could get a full set of four, staggered for like a tad over 500.. They need to be imported to you right?

How close are you to the border? If you're within driving distance, check to see if you have a border storage (place you can ship goods and they charge your a small fee for the service).

Thats what I do for larger purchases. Save tons of money.

So i did some calculations. The 255/40 and 285/35 is going to raise my car an inch which i want so i can slam it more, and is going to look better out back but is gonna cost me $700 all around. The 255/35 and 275/35 is going to lower my sidewall by .5" which means i cant slam it more, and is going to look smaller out back but is gonna cost me $400 all around.... Don't know what ta do

Well heres a way to look at it.. For 700 your car sits an inch higher, which results in more ground clearance.. So figure what another $500 or maybe more on shocks, struts, springs, cc plates? Or.. let it drop .5'', lower it like 1.5'' all around, take out isos and save money. are you lowered now at all? or iirc you have cut springs right?

the .5 isnt gonna drop my car, its going have .5 less side wall, same diameter as right now.
