Tire size in relation to wheel size

So I picked up a set of factory (I think), '95 Cobra wheels last week. 17x8's I was able to score new tires for them but 2 of them are 275/40's. The tires on the wheels now are 255's but the 275's are a bit wider obviously. Is it going to be ok to mount the 275's to that 8" wheel?

Yea they'll work they'll bulge a little but be fine
