Its getting closer to buy new tires and i was wondering what street tires you guys ride on and why? I have a basic bolt-on gt so I'm looking at either BF Goodrich GForce TA KDW, Nitto 555 or 555r. Which ones hook and get the most miles out of them?
thanks
Alex

I currently have BFG KDW tires on the front and BFG DRs on the rear. The KDWs are noisy at certain speeds and the BFG DRs are wearing fast. On my previous wheels i had 555Rs on the rear and i loved them, they lasted a long time and hooked well when heated at the track, they were just stupid money in 18s. As for the regular 555s they dryrot really fast, i'd stay away from them.

If your looking for a really cheap tire that is halfway decent the summitomo htrZIII's aren't bad, just stay away from the htrII's and well pretty much every other summi.

i have the sumitomo htzr II's i believe and love them... (they are a directional with like lines grooved rather them tread) They hook really good on the street and last a while... Im goin on 2 years and roughly 30k miles and they are still in great shape... Have prolly another 10k miles left in em... For an affordable tire id definately recommend them...

I have BFG KDW on mine and love them. Mine aren't noisy at all, but don't drive in snow with them, I literally crawled to my brother's house to park it when the first snowfall hit. Also, they have to have the best looking thread design of all time :).

Be careful cutting cost too much on tires. Lower quality tires lose wet weather traction, ride quality, and quiteness
as they wear. Just looking at treadwear is missing alot of the quality and safety issues of a set of tires.
Sometimes a savings of $100 to $150 is sellling yourself short.

+13809125609 Never cheap out on tires, Unless you want to die. Then go for it! Just kidding, sorta, but not really at all.
