Track Times!

Okay so I got to make 5 passes down the quarter today! I ran the best of a 16.026 @ 86.68 with a 2.465 60'. The 16.026 time was the last run of the day! No videos for that one srry! The first run of the day was 16.520 @84.88 with a 2.603 60'. The second run was a [email protected] with a 2.536 60'. The third run of the day was 16.237 @ 85.89 with a 2.471 60'. The fourth run was my worst as i missed second and third lol 17.169 @ 82.93 with a 2.669. And then the final run of the day was the 16.026! Now on the first four runs I went around the water box, but then cut it after I spun my tires to clean them off which made me closer to the middle of the track which is also the sticker part. This made me bogg like crazy even on a 4K launch. The 5th run I went around the water box, but this time stayed to the out side of the track. This allowed me to spin off of my launch and gained me the 2.465 60'. Any tips or critizum is welcome and Ill be getting the rest of the videos posted soon!

P.S. For those who dont know this was my first time ever to run my car at the track!

Is your car an automatic? I know with my 94 5 speed i roll through the water and then spin the tires to they hook. Even then i can only launch at most around 2k or i get lots of spinning. My first pass ever with it i didnt spin the tires through the water and it felt like i took off on ice only running a 15.7 @ 94mph, since my best pass was a 14.75 @ 94.95 mph with still some spinning in first.

Well I do have a stick, but I am on a street tires that are almost brand new! nitto 555s 245/45/17 so I just spun my tires to clean off the rocks and then I was launching at 3500 dumping the clutch and I was still bogging! Once I went to the side of the track, I spun through 1st and a third of the way in 2nd, and that was my best run of the day! Ohh and by the way I am at 6000 ft so with corrected numbers for altitude my best run was a 15.0!

haha...you still spanked the civic and I couldn't hear your car at all over it. Good job on the first time out. I personally ALWAYS drive around the water because if you drive through it all your doing is driving through the water trail your front tires are leaving, and same as you I don't smoke my tires when i'm on street tires either because it doesn't make any difference in hooking at all....when your on dr's that's another story. Just out of curiousity what gears does your car have?
