tubular GT40 question

I see some tubular GT40's for sale and I was wondering if there's anything I need to remember when buying these. I'm slowly stacking up on parts to do a heads/intake swap somewhere in the near future and I was planning on running a cobra or tubular intake (whichever presents itself).

My main concern is the fact that I want to do the least amount of fab/mod work when doing to actual swap, and also to keep all the vacuum/egr options that the stock HO intake has. (We have very strict emissions here).

So main question: will a tubular GT40 (and 93 cobra for that matter) bolt right on with the use of only a tb-adapter? (struttower brace/hood taken into account).

Thanks

Yes.

Everything will bolt up exact. One nice thing about Ford Racing products, the quality is excellent.

I do believe that when you use a fox intake you have to convert to a fox throttle body or get an elbow adapter. I know the TFS adapter is about $100 but has the hookups for the EGR and stuff (mine has 3 fittings for hoses but I don't have any more emissions on my car so most are capped off).

if you are interested I'm selling a nice GT40 setup that was on my 94 cobra. Includes Upper/lower and the elbow.

Your best bet, if you can find one, is to get an original 94-95 cobra intake. That way you don't have to worry about buying a
throttle body adapter. Although i must say the GT40 Tubular intake flows quite well, but the price is up there too..

I am running a gt40 tube with a 1 inch spacer. Converted to a fox TB setup no EGR. Without the liner the stock hood closes but touches the top of the throttle body and the front corner of the intake. Intake looks cool and gets a lot of compliments. When looking for a used one check the center bolt posts of the upper and make sure they are still welded to the tubes. Too much torque when tightening these bolts can twist them and cause them to snap off the tube.
