tubular k member alignment

I've heard that If you install a tubular front k member on your car then you have to have it aligned to the subframe....

anyone know how you would go about doing that or anything?

Download the instructions on Maximum Motorsports' website for their k-member; it will explain how to do it. However, I've not done it on my tubular k-members from other manufacturers. They don't allow much movement like the Maximum unit does.

You can buy a nice plumb bob from Harbor Freight for pretty cheap.

not as hard as I thought but would a shop be able to check this also?? like if I do it, but then take it to a shop and have them make sure it's right?

also is MM's the lightest k member?

A performance shop might consider doing it. It's not hard, just a pain in the ass.

No, the MM k-member is toward the heavy end of the spectrum, and also probably the strongest except for stock.

Most shops with a relatively new alignment machine will be able to see the alignment angles, and figure out if the cradle(k-member)
needs to be shifted.. for example if the left side has neg. camber, and the right side has positive, both in roughly the same dimensions,
then it would be shifted too far to the left.. wheels like this.. /cradle/ viewed from the back. hope this helps.
