sounds like the k member was not squared properly

you need to get the car level and in the air, drop some plumb bobs on the car and start taking measurements. goto maximum motorsports site and download the instructions for their k member. it will outline how to square a k member properly.

so had the same wheels on the car before the k member swap and they sat inside the fenders on both side, now the driver side sits out almost 3 inches.even if i could "square" the k member, then they would both stick evenly about 1 1/2 on both sides. wheel's not exactly straight in the pics, but it's just not right.

I think it's a combo of the Kmember not being square, and the offset of your deep dish wheels that make your car sit that way.. Your buddies
car doesn't look that significant, but perhaps his is misaligned somehow as well, although, to my knowlege the Kmembers don't
have a lot of movement allowed in the slots side to side, only front to back.. You could start by looking underneath the car at where the
Kmember bolts are in relation to the slots are, and compare them side to side.. On your car, it might take quite a bit of difference to make
that kind of a change, but on your buddies, you probably won't be able to see it.

have you contacted QA1?

That would be my first step.

Might have overlooked or done something incorrectly in installation or there might be a bad batch of K-members out there or something.

I know this thread is a little old...

I have a PA Racing tubular k-member and fox body a-arms, this is before putting spacers on to bring the wheels out a bit:
