Tune-up

Going to do a much needed tune up on the car next week. My plug wires are stamped 1995 from Ford and it looks like everything else is original too (118k mi). After putting together a list on Rock Auto I saw that tax and shipping would run about $30 extra. For a total of around $90 (everything Motorcraft except rotor button and fuel filter. So, I wanted to see if I'd save any money by picking everything up at O'Riley's instead. $80 just for the distributor cap! It was $60 less on Rock Auto. Just a heads up for everyone. I'm glad I checked online first.

there's a discount code around here somewhere for Rockauto that might help a bit. I always get my parts from Rock auto unless it's something that broke and I have to fix it right away, otherwise I order it and can count on it being shipped promptly plus it's hard to beat their prices.

oreillys wont price match rock auto, at least when i tried they wouldnt, so i said screw u, and they have lost my business since

I try and order things online if they're parts that I don't need urgently, but if I need something immediately, I always check Advance Auto, O'Reileys and AutoZone. I usually print the page and take it to the zone if one of the other two places is cheaper. Most retail stores will only match other retail competitors... but not online merchants. Neither AutoZone nor Advanced Auto will pricematch Rock Auto... at least not the ones where I'm located.

Rock Auto doesn't do free shipping, but it usually evens out once you factor in the cheaper prices. Especially if you get something on a wholesaler closeout.
