Well, the truck valve body IS different, a side by side comparison show's some passages opened up, and some are larger in the truck unti. SO a truck VB would have a higher line pressure than the car, all other thing's equal. Not enough to justify swapping it though, just do the Jmod on the car unit and be better off yet.

Other thing's, in late 1997 the 4r70w got a 14 roller reverse input drum, up from 7. More roller's = bigger happiness. However, for even bigger happiness, swap in the mechanical diode input drum, pn # F8AZ-7D044-AA along with Mechanical Diode Sprag Package # F8AZ-7A089-AA. I bet that combo would hold up to 500 rwhp when used in conjunction with your standard rebuild kit and a carbon fiber band.

EPC solenoids are the same from 92 through current, but the hold down bracket is different, as the 1996-up valve body is thinner.

Post 1996 torque converter solenoids are different than pre 1995, don't mix them. Shift solenoids also changed at this time, use the updated ones. The shift quicker and should be less prone to clogging.

That's all the goodies you guy's need to know, most changes were made in 1995, a few runnign changes afterwards. Internally, it's as stoutly spec'd as an aftermarket 700r4 already, just need's a few tweaks and it should be fine for quite a bit of power and abuse.

I didn't see anything internally that would account for TV pressure spikes, I mean pressure can spike, but it shoulldn't be extreme. Transgo is attempting to replace solenoids and springs that do not need to be messed with, the changes need to happen in the valve body and separator plate IMO. And I would bet theTransgo would give a harsh part throttle shift, bad bad bad.

My brothers 400 hp Bronco is getting the updated reverse input drum, new and extra clutches, a carbon band, some Valve body/plate mods (the other "J"mod, lol), a few update part's here and there, and slung back into the Bronco, SO I'll let you guy's know how that works out, since he's an idiot and like's to powerbrake his big dumb truck. Basically, this trans WILL fail, lol. But if it lives a year, I'll be happy.

got ya, also there is something that was changed in 98 about a falure problem with the trans... on the tcoaa site it shows... it goes from a big metal cylender with an o ring on it to a smaller plastic one with an oring.. i read that it said that the aluminum would rub the o ring threw and cause it to leak and mess up some things.

But thats cool. I guess i'll sell this trans go kit and save the money.... so i gotta pay the dude 35 and what do you guys think i could make off this kit?

The 1-2 accumulator, that's one of the things changed. Alot of thing's cjanged in 98, like the connector on the back of the trans.
