Turbos are definitely cool, they run more efficient, lag is NOT an issue unless you size it wrong.
But if you look at the pros/cons, you can say what you want about installation, the s/c wins. Hands down, you'll be up and running in a weekend with a s/c. Either one you will need supporting fuel/tuning mods.
SC, install brackets, head unit, piping, and a belt. Possibly tap a oil supply/return.
TURBO, depending on kit you'll be removing body parts, k-member mod/replace, 1/2 the exhaust needs modded, front of engine compartment needs a shit-ton of room, a bunch of electronics need relocated, a mile of intake piping with a possible i/c, and all of this stuff needs clearance which your enginebay DOES NOT HAVE. You also need to drill/tap and oil supply and possibly a water supply too if the turbo is worth a shit.
The tuning may be a little more difficult with a trbo, but you need to find a tuner that is capable either way.
Now the maintenance, the turbo is gonna be 1000% more maintenance. These cars just aren't built to handle the heat these things make. You've seen the vids of the glowing red exhaust manifolds/turbo exhaust housings, yea that's what hapens under WOT when you run them hard. You'll be spending more coin on protecting stuff, time on re-adjusting stuff, and there is ALLWAYS something that needs fixed or added.
Show me someone that DDs a turbo Mustang? Now show me a DD s/c'd Mustang. Listen to Justin, he's been there and is recommending the smart option.
Now if this were a toy and you don't care if it runs, then by all means if you have the coin. Truth is, most turbo retrofit Mustangs end up sold because they are unreliable. But when they run right, they make awesome power.
