depends on what you pay for it. You can also make your own from PVC pipe for under $15.00

You mean like the BBK and Ebay CIA kits? I spent my money on a C&L True flow tube and called it good. Looks alot better then the cheap ass CIA kits

They flow better just by the lack of as many bends, or at least that's the idea. CAI aren't really worth much except for looks from what I've seen. Some put the filter and stuff inside the fender for less heat, but the pipes usually get hot, so that kinda ruins that. I tihnk they look better, but that's about all I've seen.

build a kit yourself. I picked up a set of used TFS heads for next to nothing, then a used intake, new cam, make more power to.

Cobra Intake is a good manifold and a torque monster at that. On the street you'll hardly notice a difference between that and an Edelbrock/TFS intake. When you add boost is where you'll see those shine...N/A a Cobra is perfectly fine.

Even with boost they work well, if you pick it up - send it to TMoss Porting. Tom does wonders with them, the dude is amazing.

Id just get the trickflow heads , trickflow stage 1 cam , and then get some crane pushrods and rockers , but then I would try to find an SN95 cobra intake , will make more low end torque with that intake vs the trickflow and will probably end up costing less than the kit is by piecing it together, you just wont get the fancy valve covers LOL .....

so are there any other opinions on this HCI setup is it worth the cost? if you were to build your own kit, what something that would be equivalent?

For everything you get in the trick flow kit you cant piece it together for cheaper unless your looking at buying used parts.
