Definately exciting!!

and I'd agree with the powder coating, front cover and valve covers to match your color scheme, looks good.

Nice work Matt!

Thanks guys. Now I have to get the Mach stripped. I need to get the wiring harnesses and computers out for use in my coup. I will also be using the clutch/brake pedal assembly. I am going to see about useing the cruise control, that will be a minor issue compared to the wiring nightmare ahead of me.

I won't be useing the A/C parts, ABS parts, or Brake hydroboost system. I think I have the K-Member sold.

I was unexpectedly able to get about 4 hours work done today. So I removed the spaghetti from the engine compartment and tagged the harnesses, removed upper and lower cowl, removed wiper motor and pivots, removed cruise control module, removed horn assembly, basically the only thing left is the A/C lines, receiver dryer, clutch cable, and brake booster. I need to get the tool to disconnect the A/C lines and fuel lines.

We also removed the dash board. I suggest that if you don't absolutely have to do it, don't. What a wiring mess. But there are only about 11 bolts that hold it in place.

Here is the cleaned out engine bay.

This is what the asshat saw after he rolled his car.

Right side fender well Empty of wiring. The harness that is still connected goes inside the car, now that the dash is out I can remove it easier. (I hope!)

The seats are just sitting in the car. I need to make some mounting brackets for them.

I can't wait to see this car finished up. I skipped around and didn't really read a lot, but the pics make everything look nice.

Sweet buildup.

Today we built an engine stand and put the engine and trans assembly on the stand. It is not exactly what I wanted to do, but it will do the job. i will get some pics up later on today.

This is where we are at. We have the engine/trans out of the Mach and sitting on our home made engine stand. We are cleaning it up and getting it ready for the install in the coup. This thing is a friggin monster.

I now have the intirior pretty much gutted. I just need to pull the wiring harnesses, computers moduals, heater/A/C box. As soon as we get this hulk out of the garage we can start with the installation process. The Coup is ready for the engine to be fitted in. After that it is all down hill.

down hill? I think you mean it's 10000000 little finishing touches!

It's crazy how wide the modulars are isn't it :) compared to a 351 they're FAT

It is sick wide, like the Boss 429's were. The funny thing is my 289 is actually longer than the 4.6.

Modulars are obscenely hugenormous. 4 inches wider than a 460 Big Block Ford.

Yes this thing is 27-28 inches across compared to the 17-18 inches the 289 is.

I made some good progress today. I have now got the intirior about 95% gutted. The only things left are the rear wiring harness, the parking brake, and door internals. I also finnished cleaning out the engine bay. All the A/C hoses and brackets are out, the remainder of the wiring harnesses are out, and the fuel regulator is out. Also removed the front tires off of the front suspension and bolted them up to the 66 just to see how they would look.

I have got parts spread all over the garage. It is like organized chaos.
