the painless way is to find some other sucker to sell them too and you will save yourself the time watching your volt meter a lights and save yourself the hassle of replacing the alt. Had mine on for about a year before it burned up my alt. Replaced them with stockers and the alt and have not had an issue since.

post an add to trade them and you can find some kid that will think they are worth it. The only good thing about the pullies I got was I got them used and was actually able to make $10 selling them to the next kid.

Does anyone know if you have to change the belt size when switching to UDP? Just wondering?

Install them and see how you like them. If you dont drive the car daily you should be fine.

Isn't it just the crank pulley that really matters anyway? just throw the UD crank pulley on and leave your stockers alone.

thanks for all the reply's......hmm you guys got me thinking now, no I havent installed them yet, I was changing my alternator and I broke the retaining bolt and was debating to even puting those pulleys on at all...Im now drilling out the old bolt.....I noticed that the new alternator already has a bigger pulley so I will just leave that one on.........about changing the gears, what gears do you guys recommend?....whats the cost with labour?...

gear is a mod you will feel, anyone that tells you they felt the hp the udp's added is dreaming. They are a cheap way to free up some hp but after some time when/if you add heads/cam you will want to be sure that everything is turning the way it was meant too.

Ive heard all kinds of things about UDPs I wouldnt put them on my car, the headache doesnt seem like its worth the little horsepower gains I would gain from them.

As far as gears I would go with 3.73 if you're manual and 4.10 if you're in an auto. But thats the general advice I got when inquiring about gears. As far as getting them installed the going rate I saw was around 200$

200 for install? That must be for just setting up the gears, no new bearings clutch packs etc. that's going the cheap way about things. It's 700 bucks at my shop with gears new clutch packs and bearings.

+1, my local shop is 300 for just gears, 800 for total rear end rebuild.

the other shop wants 1200$ because they assume the unit needs to be replaced with a 8.8 posi. I didnt even reply, just walked out....

I would only use the UD crank pulley.. My 95 had them on the crank, wp and alt. I had many charging issues until I swapped back to the stock alt pulley. I have also heard of people having cooling issues as well with the UD wp pulley. But i didnt have any..
