So this is kind of a re-do of a build thread I started in a different life, but here goes.
I bought this car in the beginning of 2013 and started tinkering with it pretty much right away. Exhaust, intake, and the basics. That quickly evolved into GT40P heads, P specific Ford Racing headers, and a small number of other items.
In the spring of 2016 the motor spun a rod bearing and I set on my way to build a new motor.
The long block consists of:
- Stock machined 94 block
- DSS forged pistons, rods and cast Eagle crank
- Melling oil pump
- Custom Comp Cams camshaft
- Milodon 7 quart deep sump oil pan
- RHS 35011 180CC runners with a 58cc combustion chamber, 2.02 I and 1.60 E valves
- 1.6 roller rockers, Comp lifters and TFS push rods
- SFI 25oz dampener and flexplate
The motor is also topped with a ok quality copy of a Parker Funnel Web intake that has been ported, and cleaned up. Fuel is via a Holley Sniper EFI system, ignition is Holley as well and interacts with the Sniper for timing control.
Transmission consists of the AODE with a Trans Go HD2 shift kit, external transmission cooler, an FTI 2800 stall 10" torque converter, and is controlled by a US Shift stand alone controller.
Yes you will notice that the exhaust is goofy as hell and that is exactly the way I want it, against the grain. Exhaust consists of:
- Holley Flowtech 1 3/4" LS (yes as in Chevrolet LS) headers re-drilled to meet the wide bolt holes for the RHS heads
- 3" secondaries into a Vibrant Performance merge collector. Then 4" from the collector to a 4" pretty much straight through muffler and out the side of the front bumper.
Here are a number of pictures from the interior, work performed to the core support, exhaust fab, and engine assembly. Any questions feel free to ask!
