Vacuum lines running out of the fender.....

in the passenger side fender well there are vacuum lines that run out of it a red, green, and a pinkinsh color. Anyone know what they go to? I've read in other forums the green and red are EGR and since I dont have EGR I can bypass them, but what about the third one? Which one hooks to the elbow? Thanks for the help

I may be totally wrong, but I have not been able to locate my evaporative cannister on my 98 and I am suspecting that it is inside of the Pass fender well behind the wheel. I assume this because of the vac lines coming off of the manifold vac supply, and the to valves that connect to them, (cant remember the names right now, think one is the thermister) I need to pull the wheel well liner this weekend to check it out. Fred

You can remove all the solenoids, the canister, lines, ect, with no problems with a smog delete. (disregarding CEL codes)

But there is one ~1/4 inch steel line that runs up near the fuel lines. It is the tank vent. If its not capped or routed correctly, the gas smell will get ya.

only problem with capping of the vent tube is you will build up some serious pressure in the tank now. you basically have to leave your gas cap a little loose. try leaving it tight and drive a decent amount, the open the tank and youll hear all the pressure releasing like you never had before.
