Visual difference between 7.5'' & 8.8'' diffrential tube ?

i've been searching for the 8.8'' diffrential tube for my project but everytime a scrap yarder shows it to me it looks exactly just like the one on my V6.

My v6 has 10 bolt cover and every other mounting bracket is there on every 8.8'' diff tube I saw. im thinking they may be cheating me or the v6 japan spec mustangs already equipped with 8.8'' ?

The cover itself is different. In America, only GT's had 8.8's, and Gt's only had 8.8's, so I wouldn't bother looking under a V6 car at all anyway.

True and that fact I knew.. but when I go to the scrap yard they ALL look the same and I cant tell the difference between them

looking at the tube only? probably no way to tell. Look at the cover. if its round then is 7.5 if its 8.8 it has 4 flat sides w/ rounded corners.

I think my v6 has the 4 flat sided ones '' 8.8'' '' ....I will have to check it out tomorrow and see.. Would really be a releif and money saving if japs already had an 8.8'' .
