Hello,

The Kenne Bell is a Twin-Screw, it's a better s/c for the street, it give more torque and low rpm, but a Vortech is also a good s/c they got 3 yrs of warranties, the KB got just one. It's 2 good s/c, I think there more 5.0 L Mustang whit Vortech s/c. Everything is in the tune.

KB is instant boost on the throttle. Vortech will usual boost around 3k rpms. KB looks better imo. But it also costs alot more. I have a procharger P-1. Its been on 2 motors for 8 yrs without a hitch. It makes 15lbs of boost which is equal to the KB. As for fun to drive the KB or any screw blower wins hands down. As for the track though you will need a built rear and stickies to keep the tires from blowin off. Im not sure but I think with a KB you need a cobra R hood to make it fit also. Maybe someone will chime in on this.

well i already have the cobra r hood so clearance isnt a problem, but i cant choose!!! lol i want the kb b/c its sooo badass and i love the way it sounds!! but i heard that the vortech is actually better for my car. which will actually make my car faster at the track? but what about on the street? im not always gonna be at the track ya know. lol but i want to be able to beat my friends 04 gto b/c he just put a magna charger on it. and before he got that on i would beat him by like a hair! its was always a close race. but no theres no competition b/c he has a s/c!!

Pound for pound, 99% of the time a centri car will outlaunch a twin screw/eaton blower. This is why everyone recommends the centri blowers for the track, you don't need to make 10,000 ft/lbs at 1500 RPM to launch, as its counterproductive to traction.

the plus to the kenne bell is that you can be riding down the street, any speed, any gear, running no boost, savin gas, then just floor it, full boost instantly.

Ehhh KBs on DOHC 4.6 engines are totally different, many 03 Cobra owners are running KBs around 20psi, ofcourse thats going to make a ton of power. Also you can get intercoolers with some 4.6 KBs. Usually on stock 5.0s i think KBs make around 300whp, but they make a ton more torque. On a head/cam 5.0 a 12psi KB has made 500whp. It's all in the tune and the engine setup.

If your gonna do a Kenne Bell, your going to want to do a Kenne Bell 2.2 Flowzilla. A 1.5 is not gonna give you what you want.

In the end, I think you will want a Centrifugal. An S-trim will take you a long way.

I was in the same boat as you, and went with a Vortech. I'm happy i didnt go with KB, because i dont hook the way it is now. I couldnt imagine having boost right off tthe push of the pedal :nonono:

KB for the cobras are completely different than that for any other car.. I was in the same boat as well but decided to go with turbos instead of a s/c, but the way i saw it was if the roots was so good how come only KB makes one for a 5.0? and i dont think that anyone besides kb makes them for 96-04 gt's and 96-01 cobras..

Kenne Bells are Twin Screw SC not Roots. The Eaton on the stock 03/04 are a Roots style. The Kenne Bell Can make a lot of HP to it just makes more torque down low as well. Its really up to how you wanna drive and where. The Centris make more HP usually but its almost always WAY up in RPMs like 6k. Look at a dyno graph of a Kenne Bell and then of a Centri type and see how much more power under the curve and how fat the power band is compared to the Peak the Centri makes at Redline.
