no they make shorty unequal length as well that make spark plug changes easy. What are you hoping to gain over the BBK's? I run the shorty unequal for a few years and never had a problem.

I hear the seperate flange on the macs can leave you with a leak if you don't tighten them from time to time.

the bbks i have now have never sealed right on the passenger collector. they have also caused the a/c line on the passenger strut tower to become cracked and heat soaked. and they suck when it comes to changing exhaust gaskets that my dang blower keeps taking care of.

I had bassani equal shortys on mine and hated them, install was a pain, melted an A/C line, spark plug changes sucked, and they were hard to tighten down. Swapped them out for a set of unequal lenth JBAs

im going to go with a set of unequal lengths, i just dont know what ones to go with.

and seeing how i dont use my egr would a set of fox headers work? the penny in the cap on the one primary just looks kinda ghetto.

I have had the unequal bbks for 2 yrs now and never done anything to them. Are you sure that the euqual lengths didn't just make it hard to get the the bolts to tighten them down? The unequals are easier to put on, change plugs, and the gain of the equals is very minimal....

they are on the heads and sealed. its the passenger side collector that i've had issues with. i even took it to a top notch exhaust shop and the guy told me there was nothing he could do to make it seal better. not much i can do after that.

i think the main problem is the location of the collector flange on the passenger one. its kinda at an angle and rotated in a odd direction. if i remember right i wanna say that was the one thing i saw differnt on my friends fox set. well that and the egr bung.

If you're going to change headers theres no point in taking a step back in performance. Go with longtubes if you're tired of messing with the equal lengths. I had equal lengths on my 91 Gt and I will say they were a bit of a pain to install and I needed to install new motor mounts to make sure they cleared the steering shaft. Shorty headers on an otherwise nearly stock motor is kind of a waste IMO. Do longtubes, you will have more spark plug room when compared to the equal lengths but will not loose any power like when going to shortys. Not saying that you're going to loose gobs of power, more like 2hp when going to unequal shortys.

i like the idea of long tubes but with a stock k-member and deadly bad roads in oregon i dont know if it would be the best idea. plus my budget is else where at the moment so i wanna keep it kinda cheap. added cost of LT+mid pipe isnt around $300.

i feel like my car is mostly stock, or maybe its cause im just used to it now. but with 6psi and 11 on the way on stock e7's with only a cobra upper and lower there aint much really done to it. its almost all in my sig.

If you're willing to spend a little more, the Ford Racing headers or JBA are excellent quality, seal well and are stainless steel, not aluminized steel.

i was looking at the jba shorties and the fords. the cost is right in my range aswell.

the way i look at it is if i want long tubes i also want a tube k member. and if im going to get that deep into the car i should probibly find a coupe to swap what i have into. we all know verts were not made to go fast so its an uphill battle from this point on.

I know you can get pacesetter LT's for around your price range. I have done research on them and the power coated or whatever ones seem to do well. I have found several dyno sheets and graphs that show a good hp gain, mostly in the 20's or so without a tune. I have also heard of the cheaper painted ones flaking very fast but I haven't found proof of this either. Summit racing sells them and all their specs appear to run with pack in this thread. I am just saying they might be worth looking into. Summit racing stocks them.
