Was at an auction last night and picked this up for 6500

saw this one come across the block and decided to bid on it thinking i wouldnt win it but fortunatly i did and got the title it was a real 2001 cobra what a deal best part is all that was wrong with it was the airbags and small bumper cover damage not salvaged i was really happy!!!!Also is there anyone who knows where i can get an airbag for both sides and how to put them in this is the first car i had bought like this thanx in advance she only has 11,000 miles and runs solid no nasty 3rd gear grindage yet like all these 2001 t-54s have.

Dood, I like it.... and I would look for someone parting out a 01 Gt or something for airbags.... they are costly new.

what do you think would they have had grey covers or black i have another 01 cobra but it has all black interior not the grey and black so im lost

I think the GT's came in black and grey colors. I doubt ford would use a Cobra specific airbag, i could be wrong. There should be a part number on the airbag you can use to track down what you need.

sooo dumb question.... why were the bags out/deployed in the first place?

Where'd you pick it up at if you don't mind me asking? Copart by any chance?

Looks real solid.

To do the bags you'll need a new airbag module from what I'm told...

not sure to tell you the truth the bags look like someone pulled them out for anothe car not sure if thats possible or not

Thats not the point. Your air bags are set off via a system of crash sensors, seat belt sensors, and motion sensors. I work in a body shop, we replace pretensioners all the time in fords that the lights won't go off in, or the air bag system won't work.

Pre tensioners are the female end of the seat belt where a small explosive deivice goes off and then causes the blet to pre tension before the inertia side of the retractor takes place.

get rid of all the aftermarket stuff and bring it back to original then some nice wheels and lowering kit mabe coilovers kinda thinking track car would be fun never raced on a track besides dragstrip
