I was wondering because previously I posted saying that my car would shut off while driving or at a dead stop while in drive *automatic*
then i realized that it didn't do it when i sat in neutral or park but only in drive. so that's why i ask what all can "under-drive" a motor..?

I have aftermarket under-drive pullies but i am going to get a new set because the ones i have were garabage but they were cheap.

I have no idea what the hell you are talking about. It seems you are saying that under a load in gear, your car isn;t charging, and you think it's the underdrive pulleys?

Could be. As for what all could underdrive a car, lol, just the pulleys.

......i'm tryin to think of a way to explain it with my non-mechanic knowledge...

it is charging because it starts up fine, when its in park it idles fine and nothing is cutting off but ONLY when it's in drive does it happen... also if i'm in neutral and i press on the brakes it also does bring the needle on the battery gauge down......

you mean you want to know why your car would stall under load.

you could have a short to ground in the drive circuit. when that takes power, power is taken away from something else (or sending a false signal) causing it to stall.
if your brake lights cause your power gauge to drop then you have a charging issue. try hitting everything power at once that you can (locks, windows, brakes, 4ways) and see what it does and how long it takes to charge back up.

might just be something as stupid as a corroded ground wire connection.

* are all your fuses the right ones? like you didnt swap out anything for a larger amperage one because it kept blowing on u?

all my grounds seemed to be fine as i previously stated but when i turn on all my stuff you can see the gauge go lower and lower..
today on the way to work *just now* it wasn't doin it that badly but now that i got my 2nd amp back on my 460 system i was watchin the needle bounce to the bass which was kinda amusing but yeah it's still doin it. everytime i use something electrical the needle moves. i am going to check all my fuses *it's underneeth the steering wheel, or is there another one? haha

thats the thing, battery is fine and all my connections seem to be fine....

That's what I thought once-upon-a-time...lol. Turned out, my battery was taking a crap AND it had a faulty ground connection.

well when mine tested fine... it made me not think it's my battery...
all my lines seem to be fine but i'm not sure how to like "replace" them if need be...
but like i said they all looked fine.

My ground to the battery "looked" fine too. Have you tried cleaning your terminals?

which is why this is gettin annoying..
cuz i've done all the basic steps, replaced all the necessary items...

Its sounds like your alternator. Those crappy autozone/pepboys/orieleys alternators can cause weird problems cause they're junk. When your engine is running the battery is not powering your car. The alternator is. Underdrive pulleys can cause charging problems especially with those crappy alternators.

You say bass? You have subs? Your alt is bad or your amp is huge. Everytime my subs hits when I have it up loud which is never, and have my lights on, they dim. I'd say check your alt.
