A stock 97Gt is only good for 15's or so, Ive heard of some getting high 14's but I think those cases are rare. I had a 96Gt (automatic) with 4:10's, trans-go shift kit, pulleys, coldair kit, k&n, x-pipe, flowmaster exhaust and BFG drag radials and my best 1/8th mile was a 8.99 and that's around a flat 14 in the quarter. It took quite a few mods and weight reduction (removed pass seat, spare tire/jack, skinnines up front) to run what it did, but it felt good just not super fast times.

Oh yea I never run it stock so I have no idea of how much my mods gave me over what it would have done bone stock. ::)

15.5 stock for my AODE w/ 109,000 miles on it. Headers, O/R H, catback, CAI at 140,000 miles it ran a [email protected], that was with 2.73 gears, 90% Humidity, 80 Degrees F out and the spare tire and jack in the trunk. Thanks to the gears I was able to run on 225/65/16 tires all around with no slippage. Launched at idle b/c its a stock auto with a R/T of .34, 60' of 2.20, 1/8 in 9.76. Waiting to see what it runs with the 4:10s. ;D

The only PI part I had was the intake, my stock one cracked :'( so instead of getting the stock replacement I got the PI kit from livernois motorsports for $650 that had the intake and plates to mount on my NON PI heads. It was suppsoe to be about a 15hp bolt on.

My car is a 96 auto coupe.
for a 15.1@90mph...
Densecharger CAI
Steeda U/D pullies
Trick Flow Plenum
Magnaflow catback
this was full weight, minus the spare/jack.
car made 177hp/245tq.

Since then I've added a Livernois Motorsports PI Intake and Xcal2, and the new numbers are 194hp/250tq.
Hoping to atleast hit a 14.7

15.23 @ 92.12 (97 GT Coupe - NA)
last year with 150K+ miles, K&N CAI, Flowmaster Super 40 Mufflers, Motive 3.90's, MGW Short Throw and Street Tires (Potenza RE910 245/50/16). i cant drive for shit though, this was only my second time to ever run at a track.

i should be in the high 14's this year... going to the track tomorrow evening for Test and Tune night ;D ive added an o/r h-pipe, pullies and different wheel/tire set up (17x9 front on 265/40's 17x10.5 rear on 315/35's). i also added lowering springs so that might be a disadvantage. i'll post my time slips when i get home tomorrow night :thumb:

Im going to run it again soon now that i have a lot more mods.....i beat stock 99+ Gts and was even with a 2005 gt last night!!!! Should be in low 14's....

thanks man! yea im rolling on Sumitomo 315/35's in the back. im going to try to borrow a friend's slicks next trip. the track was pretty slick last night, a guy on a 7.19 turbo bike could only run 9's. i think when the weather warms up a little more and with a little more practice i'll be mid to low 14's as is :thumb: oh yea, im also modifiying some stock uppers and lowers in hope of improving my 60'... we'll see!!

with those tires you could pull a high 1.xx 60"...if you can yank the hell out of the gears and drive like a mofo...on the same brand tires 285's street tires i pulled a 1.96 60"(just eibach springs for suspension)...do you get wheel hop bad? the upper and lowers will deff help and improve ur times..also does it seem like ur 3.90 gears kinda peek off or stop pullin as hard about the 1/8 th mile i know when i had mine i hated them...then i got some 3.73s and got down the 1/4th ALOT faster and seemed quicker..i hated my 3.90s just wondering..

i dont know about wheel "hop" but they sure like to break lose at a 2000 rpm launch. i guess thats caused by wheel hop, i dont know. to be honest ive only been to the track to race 3 times in my life and only in this car so i need practice. i know if i can figure out how to get my 60' down i'll be where i should be... the speed is there. as far as my gears, since i have nothing to compare it to i couldnt really answer your question :dunno:

kept keepin practicing and it should be all good...yeah i understand i just hated my 3.90 gears and seemed to me cars would start pulling on me near the 1/8 and it wouldnt pull near as hard...so thats why i only use 3.73 and 4.10...4.10 mostly because sn95 are heavy and need that gear to jump then and they are very good in the 1/4 for the gear

did you ever dyno your stang? mine shows a decrease in torque starting at about 3800 rpm and falls off pretty steep at max hp. ive been told thats caused by a lack of flow, that may be why you noticed them pulling on you around the 1/8. i'll be adding a PI intake and cams pretty soon and putting her back on the dyno to see if that helps :thumb: might throw a little 75 or 100 shot to it too, we'll see :dunno:
