Was kinda looking at a Jetta, or Liberty with a diesel for a DD. 50 mpg and the ability to run on vegetable oil is nifty, but they are kinda more than I want to spend. But I want something I can be reasonably certain will last for about 4 or 5 year's, and a good 70-80k without a repair (I hate working on normal lame cars). I want some decent room, good mileage, and that's it. I don't care how it look's (like a Jetta ha ha ha).

A family friend owns a huge Dodge dealer, along with a buttload of other's here, but he offered me a Dodge Caliber at true cost, which is under 12k with a CVT and nifty interior. But it is hard to see out of. I may go with that though. ANyone have one?

Personally, I DD a 2k Durango. I have NEVER liked Dodge, ever! But I am really impressed with the Durango.
What should you get JR? If you're really thinking about going with a DC product, I'd ask Rick. I say get a Fusion cause they look good, and get pretty good mileage. Decent amount of room too.

The new Wrangler is at the tip top of what I'm willing to pay for my DD, probably out, Fusions are nice, but over what I want to pay, although they are pretty cheap used.. Good idea

Actually they come down to about 10to 12k used, which is right where I wanna be.

The only NEW car I'll be getting is a Caliber, since that's all I'm getting such a deal on.

500's are nice. But I'd think a Fusion would be easier to find used. Plus the SE V6's put out 221hp you'd probably be able to take a stock SN95 cause of the weight difference. :D

Its not a deal if you dont really want it in the first place though. personally id be looking for a used truck, or suv. something that is still fuctional. Im sure if u searched around you could buy 2000ish F150 for 12g. I bought my 03 FX4 F150 FOR 16g canadian(vehicles cost a lot more in canada so im sure you could find it cheaper in the US.) It has everything i was looking for. 5.4 litre, lsd rear end,4x4, the tow package, heated seats and all that jazz. It was also in near mint condition.

My uncle had a fully loaded FUSION SEL. For the most part he loved it, but he traded it in for an EDGE. He told me that the car felt VERY unstable in rain, snow, or ice, and hes not a panzy so id take it word for it.

Well I have a truck now, and I really don't need a truck. I don't haul anything, ever, so that's out. And I really don't want 15 mpg in everything I drive.

Whatever I get will be something I dont want, it'll be a DD, lol. Not a sports or muscle car. Kinda like the idea of getting a lifetime warrantee too, I'll never have to work on the turd as long as I do all the maintenance and get all the check ups ever 5 year's.

if it's ur dd and u want to spend like 12k on it just buy like a geo metro for 1000 and then when it breaks buy another one. You could have 12 chances to get a good one :) lol

If i had the hook up with a dodge dealer I would get a srt4 as my dd, kinda ricey but still look halfway decent, better than the chevy aveo's. the we go to ford, you could get a v6 2000 or so mustang for about 6 or 7k with 30k miles or so. and even less $ for a v6 camaro.

but personally for my dd I would want a chevy s10 pretty new, they look really good and still are kind of truck-like, get great gas mileage and you won't look stupid driving around in it lol

A couple months ago I picked up a 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS. I really like it so far and it's a beast in the snow. Gas mileage is decent and they are very reliable.

Find a '89 Camery like I have and drive the wheels off of it. 180k and good for another 180k. But when I get out of school and start making some good cash, I really want a early 2k Jeep Wrangler.

Its a SUV not a truck! :santa_afro:. but they are kickin. i could go on for days about how much i love them. I test drove a C class FJ, I got to put it through its paces. I was nothing but impressed. They are "the shit" when it comes to SUV's.
