Guy about 15 minutes away has this for sale. what do you think....He's asking $2500
I bought the car as a project, but I just don't have time to finish it. I've had it a little over a year. I've replaced the fuel pump, alternator, front struts, Distributor cap, and regulator.
>
> The motor runs strong, no smoke, and didn't burn a drop of oil in the 3000 miles I've driven it. There was only supposed to be around 5000-6000 miles on the motor when I bought it.
>
> It is a project, but it is very drivable.

>
> The Bad/ Things the car needs
> The car needs a lot of little things. Speedometer stopped working the last time I drove it. (I've only driven it twice in the last 6 months)
> It's electronic, it came unplugged @ the trans. I plugged it back in, but it still isn't working.
> All the other instruments work (fuel gauge, tach., oil press even the clock)
> Rear shocks are not the greatest.
> Brakes need bled. Pads are good on the front, I have not pulled the rear drums, so I can't say for sure their cond.
> There are no door seals. (weather stripping) They were removed when the car was painted and not replaced.
> Seats are in ok shape, just dirty.
> Carpet sucks
> No Headliner
> No stereo
> No dome light.
> Wipers work fine, but intermittent works properly when it feels like it
> Tires have decent tread
> Exhaust ends @ rear axle, pipes need to be extended to the rear
> Door locks need replaced. I only have 2 keys. 1 starts it, the other opens the hatchback. (hatchback
> is from an '88. They replaced the sheet metal one with a fiberglass) So I do not have a door key.
> I'd put a set of pins on the cowl hood.
> No side body trim
>
> The Good
> Solid Body, No Rust.
> Floor pans solid. I think the driver's side may have been patched in a small area
> Frame is straight and solid.
> Strong 302 Ford Racing crate motor
> 5-speed was rebuilt when the motor was replaced. (so I was told, shifts good)
> Clutch works great ( not sure of the specifics, it just feels right to me)
> Flow Master exhaust with a H pipe (neighbors will not miss it) Yes, she rumbles
> Windows go up and down
> Doors hang and close properly. (definitely need the seals)
> Heater will melt your shoes (no a/c)
>
> You will be hard pressed to find an '86 with a body this solid. This is a project car, but it is one you can still drive while you complete it
