What happens over time without Isolators?

I notice that if you remove the isolators, Mustangs sit a bit lower. My question is, what happens to cars without them? Does it damage parts or cause nasty scratch sounds?

Over time,
It Will squeak some and over a long period of time it will wear into the metal.
Metal to metal will always wear. So your metal springs are sitting on metal perches and rubbing.
However it will normally take a long long time to wear to the point where you need to change something.

Mine made super annoying squeeky sounds like the comical squeeky sex-bed, as I drove through parking lots and things, I hated it. I'll never do it again.

Or I could just run the iso's, never listen to the stupid thing's squeaking away, and never ever miss 1/4" of drop. That's what I did, but that's because I installed spring's for a purpose, not for lookins, and left the iso's out because they were a hassle to get on, not to get extra drop.

So I guess it all depends on your goals.

MY fronts are out for the same reason. Couldnt get the spring back in there with 'em on.

Duct tape works miracles, no squeaking at all.
Man that stuff works miracles.

For the other guy, it would be for looks even though I'm sure it being even lower to the ground helps performance.
Why do people only remove the front and not the rear? Seams weird.

Because the fronts are more of a hassle to get in with the ISO's on, I'd guess.

There comes a time where lower is not helping performance, without drastic chances to the rest of the suspesion as well. At some point, you just have a cool looking, rough riding lumber wagon of a car, lol.

mines not to low, with ISOs even out. Handles great, rides better then a stock car to.

i took out my iso's for the drop and she squeeks even if i give the car a good shake. might try the ductape or some grease like mentioned. but i am pretty lazy and dont really feel like pulling them out. :angel4:

yea, rears I could put the damn tape on and have it back on its to wheels in 20 minutes, i've had it apart so many times on so many cars. I won't have to worry about isolators eventually, full coilovers :), PHB, and TA

I had mine out...then for some reason unknown to me i decided to get some prothane urethane iso's...

It raised the front like 1/2-3/4 of an inch...so now my fronts higher than my back haha

I may just remove the upper iso since that one is pretty big and see what Ive got...but Im a sucker for slammed stangs so I may just go back to no iso's and duck tape.

Having the front end so low looks great...but rides like shit and is probably hurting the suspension geometry.

I never heard squeeks with the bottom of mine wrapped in duct tape

Anyone want some prothan iso's ? lol

the rear can be higher as to 1in the front to maintain aerodynamics and handling. unless you are sitting you're never really at the same height. isos are meant to prevent squeaking.
