what is wrong with my car?

i was just coming home from the store and whenever i push the clutch in the motor rev's to 2500-3k rpms and it wont stop.. i'm not touching the gas or anything and it rev's up by itself.. i have NO idea whats wrong with it.. any ideas?

disconnect ure battery for awhile and let the computer restart itself. it happend once in a truck i owned, cut it off and
restarted it and it ran fine. if that doesnt work i would check and make sure nothig has come loose in the engine bay

+1. when that kept happening to me, i replaced the IAC thinking that was the problem, turns out i wasted my money. TPS was fine on my car, so i then went to clean the MAF sensor and that fixed the problem. turns out it takes about 4yrs on my car for the k&n oil to dirty up the sensor.

ive heard about the oil messin with the sensor before. apparently its a huge prob on maximas(friend owns one
as a daily driver, his other car is a LT1 Firebird)
