it all depends on what kind of blower yu have and what kind of motor it is on, so.......... :dunno: I think MOST guys run the 3:73 gears though.
Usually ppl go with a 373 for a centrifical - makes up for the lag. 355 or lower on a posative since the low end boost will have traction problems with high gears. I have a 373 in mine now, when I go turbo I'm gonna drop it to 327's, high HP.
IMO yup 3:73's are good 2 go. I ran them with all my blower combos and I run 3:08's now with the turbo.
Feels great. I'm still NA If I was staying NA I'd go to 410, otherwise 373 feels great! still get good freeway milage in OD.
SvtBlack95 do you have any traction problems with 3:73's? 95CALI-5.0 do you sometimes wish you had 3:73 instead of 3:55?
I like my 3:55. I do alot of open track driving and am on the highway alot. power wise I can break traction all oof 1 - 2 gear and part of 3rd. That;'s with BFG's KD rubber. So if I went with the 3:73 my traction problems would get worse. If you stick to 355 or 373 you should be very happy with a blwn combo.
I'm running 3.27's in my Stang. They were in it when I bought it and I thought that the guy who owned it before me was scared of the SC. The more I drive the car, I realize that I can't go much higher. I spin through 1st, 2nd, and finally chirp and hook up in 3rd. I was thinking about swapping to 3.73's, but I'm really against it now. I'm still considering 3.55's, but with gas prices skyrocketing for the summer, I'm kind of enjoying the extra gas mileage in OD with the 3.27's... uttahere:
You must spin soooo much. No sense in having all this power if you're sitting at the line making a bunch of smoke.
Thats why they make drag radials. At some point I will prob go with a 3:73 when I rebuid the motor with heads and cams but for now I love how the 4:10s get my centri in the power band quicker. If I had a positive displacement blower though I prob wouldn't want the 4:10s.
That explains it then, the centri blower has a little bit more lag than my roots. I'd probably run 3.73's if I were in your driver's seat as well.
